I've lots of strawberries at the moment (I've even some frozen from last fall) so today I made strawberry cream scones. The resulting pastry turned out well enough and it accomplished the task of using up my backlog of berries. On the other hand, I'd not call it a scone. It's a muffin.
I picked up two techniques with this recipe. One being to use processed berries as a liquid and flavor source. The second is how to use a sugar vanilla wash to add more sweetness.
