Perhaps I'm part Viking? You see, I'm recovering from treatment for Dupuytren's Contracture, aka Viking disease, an otherwise harmless condition except for the fact it messes up the functioning of your fingers.

It all came about when I noticed the smallest finger on my left hand would not straighten. Hmm. Well I'm right handed so I ignored it. The problem however didn't go away. I went to a dark place, thinking it's a brain tumor, but since I didn't want to get my brain drilled I figured I just wouldn't think about it.

Well, avoidance only works for so long. The errant finger became annoying and the annoyance lead me to a consult with my GP, which lead me to a plastic surgeon who specializes in hands. The doctor injected something into my hand one day, massaged it another day, then wrapped it in a splint, and now I am on the mend.
