Yesterday I'd an appointment in Vancouver, a meeting that rarely takes more than fifteen minutes. Getting there, however, takes a little longer. It's an hour's drive to Swartz Bay, a 90 minute ferry ride to Tsawwassen, a half-hour bus to the Richmond Brighouse station, a fifteen minute metro to Broadway, and a 10 minute walk to the office. (Add a plane and a bike and I'd have all transport possibilities covered.) A full day of traveling, yes, but a pleasant escape from our recent bout of cold weather.
