Montparnasse Cemetery is the second largest in Paris with 35,000 residents. It is the resting place for writers and actors, political figures and philosophers, and there are tombs commemorating those who died in the Franco-Prussian war during the siege of Paris and the Paris Commune. It is also a nice place for a walk.
