This morning we left the comfortable Carcassonne apartment (photos below) and walked the two blocks to the train station. Once there we found the departures notice board indicated the train would be late (it was to be two hours late) not because of the French rail workers strike but due to an abandoned bag triggering security measures. While we waited Paul walked to the nearby Canal du Midi and photographed a couple of boats rising up in a lock on the canal. Maybe next time we'll come by boat. (Interested in joining us?
