This time of year there's a ferry leaving for Tsawwassen every hour from 6 in the morning to 9 at night. The 8 a.m. sailing was half empty, which was nice for me though not so nice for BC Ferries. The ferry company has 36 ships, the largest fleet of vehicle ferries in the world. This particular ship, the Queen of New Westminster (also the name of a lower mainland town where we once lived), was built in 1964. It can carry 254 cars and 1,332 people.
