Today we drove from Sarlat to visit the towns of Carsac, Domme, La Roque-Gageac, and Beynac.

Carsac has a pretty little church, one with the inside details of a big church but in a more intimate size.

Domme is a hilltop town with an expansive view of the Dordogne river valley.

La Roque-Gageac, where we had lunch, is a carved-into-the-rock town squeezed between a limestone cliff and the Dordogne river.

And, finally, Beynac is like La Roque-Gageac—pretty buildings, check; river, check; rock cliff, check—but with a well-preserved hilltop castle, Chateau de Beynac. Most of today's photos are from the castle.
