In case it has escaped your notice, the primary entertainment in Lecce is looking at churches. Here are two more, the Basilica di Santa Croce and the duomo. I especially like the heavily festooned Basilica though of the two it is harder to see, it is squeezed into a tight spot, whereas the duomo faces a large piazza.

Basilica di Santa Croce

Basilica di Santa Croce, or Basilica of the Holy Cross, is a richly decorated Baroque style church. It was completed in 1695.

They do a nice job of hiding buildings under construction. The building to the left is a picture of a building.

Wonderful details but also strikes me as a bit sad. Sad for the poor animals tasked with a lifetime of holding up a balcony.

Piazza del Duomo

The building just right of center is Lecce Cathedral (aka Duomo di Lecce; Cattedrale dell'Assunzione della Virgine). It was built in 1144, underwent repairs in 1230, then was rebuilt in 1659. The cathedral shares the piazza with other buildings, including the bell tower (on the left), the bishop's residence, and the seminary. The cathedral has two entrances, on the north and the west. The principal entrance is the northern façade, facing us in the photo. It is considered to be a masterpiece of Baroque art.
